Como puedes llegar a tepoztlan
En auto desde la ciudad de México es necesario seguir la autopista hacia Cuernavaca (México-Acapulco) en la que después de pasar la curva conocida como "La Pera", hay que tomar la desviación hacia Tepoztlán y Oaxtepec. El tiempo de recorrido es de 45 minutos. Para conocer las tarifas de las casetas de cobro, puede consultar las páginas de CAPUFE (Caminos y Puentes Federales) o de la SCT (Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes).

Otra opción es tomar la carretera México-Cuernavaca (libre) hasta llegar al monumento a Emiliano Zapata (que se localiza en la entrada a Cuernavaca), ahi hay que desviarse a la izquierda, para seguir rumbo a Tepoztlán. Estas rutas se recomiendan principalmente para quienes llegan por tierra desde el norte del país.

La Pirámide Del Tepozteco

Esta pequeña zona arqueológica esta localizada a más de 2000 metros sobre el nivel del mar y de 600 metros sobre el valle de Tepoztlán, en la cima del cerro del mismo nombre, ofrece una hermosa panorámica y es un antiguo adoratorio prehispánico. Aproximadamente entre los años 1150 y 1350 d. C se empezó a construir el adoratorio que hoy se conoce como "La pirámide del Tepozteco", dedicada Ometochtli-Tepoztécatl, uno de los dioses del pulque, la fecundidad y la cosecha. La pirámide conocida como la Casa del Tepozteco mide 9.50 metros de altura y en ella se encontró el ídolo Dos Conejo (representación de Ometochtli) que fue destruida por los frailes durante la evangelización.

En 1993 el INAH crea un proyecto de restauración y en 1994 fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Actualmente es la parroquia de la Natividad y el Museo y Centro de Documentación Histórica de Tepoztlán.

También es conocido el museo con el nombre de México por la Paz. En este museo encontramos piezas significativas de las culturas prehispánicas, de las que sobresale un pedazo del dios Omeotochtli - Tepoztecatl, con la figura representativa de "dos conejos", su adoratorio se encuentra en la cima del cerro Tepozteco.

El baile del Chinelo es una danza de sensacionales, alegres y contagiosos ritmos que con brincos, vueltas, contorciones y largas filas de grupos va girando y danzando en torno a la plaza, formando ríos desbordantes de felicidad.
